How We Work

Our Process

A good technology project starts with understanding the business problem, the current environment, the risks, and the outcome the business actually needs.

Process Prevents Surprises

Whether the job is managed IT, cameras, cabling, Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365, or backup, the process should reduce confusion before work begins.

  • Discover the issue and business goal
  • Assess systems, network, vendors, and risks
  • Plan, quote, implement, document, and support

The NCS Process

Most projects follow the same basic flow, with detail adjusted to the size and risk of the work.

1. Discovery

We clarify what is broken, risky, missing, confusing, or ready for improvement.

2. Assessment

We review the environment: users, devices, network, vendors, accounts, backups, cabling, cameras, or other systems.

3. Plan

We define scope, assumptions, hardware, labor, timeline, dependencies, and what success looks like.

4. Implement & Document

We complete the work, test it, document it, and make the environment easier to support.

Discovery

We start by understanding the problem. A slow network, poor Wi-Fi, missing backups, messy cabling, phone trouble, or camera blind spot all require different information.

Assessment

For managed IT, we may review users, devices, Microsoft 365, backups, endpoint protection, vendors, and administrative access. For camera and cabling projects, we may review building layout, camera angles, cable paths, network closets, PoE switches, NVR needs, and retention.

Planning and Quote

Good project scope prevents confusion. The quote should explain what is included, what assumptions are being made, and what could change the cost or schedule.

Implementation and Documentation

The work is not complete just because the hardware turns on. We document the environment so future support is easier.

Do you document the environment?

Yes. Documentation is a core part of supportable IT and project work.

Do you coordinate with vendors?

Yes. We often coordinate with internet providers, software vendors, phone providers, payment vendors, camera vendors, and other parties.
